I believe music deserves a meaningful place in every child’s education. It can bring joy, confidence and creativity to school life, while giving pupils a love of music that stays with them for life.
What pupils can learn
We present a comprehensive suite designed to facilitate operational excellence and sustained growth.

Students build secure technique, reading and listening skills through a broad range of music suited to their age, level and interests.

Lessons develop breath control, tone, posture and technique while helping pupils grow into confident, independent musicians.

Pupils learn good tone and technique while exploring the recorder’s rich and varied repertoire.

Music theory, analysis and composition can be included where helpful.
I also offer online support for GCSE and A-level music students.
Music exams can provide a rewarding challenge and a lovely sense of achievement. I can prepare learners for ABRSM, Trinity College London and MTB examinations, from the initial grades through to diploma level.
Exams are always optional. Some pupils enjoy working steadily through the grades, while others prefer to progress without them. Lessons are shaped around the individual pupil and what will help them grow in confidence, skill and enjoyment.

I currently teach pupils from the age of six. Readiness will depend on the individual child and their chosen instrument, so I am always happy to discuss what would be appropriate.

My current school tuition is delivered through individual 30-minute lessons.

Registration is normally arranged through the school. Families should follow the information supplied by their child’s school.

If a student forgets to attend their lesson, this will be counted as one of their 30 lessons for the year. However, I completely understand that illness and other unavoidable circumstances happen! If a student is unable to attend for a genuine reason, their lesson will be honoured and won’t be deducted from their annual lesson allowance.
